Victory School Measures of Success:

Note: Although we want all students to achieve the success indicators below, we will particularly focus on African American student outcomes and other under-represented students in poverty.

Short-term Outcomes      (1-2 years):

  • Increased access to high quality early childhood programming for students in poverty

  • Reduction in achievement gaps in content areas

  • Increased percentage of highly qualified high performing teachers on school campuses

  • Increased number of students participating in after school & summer programming

  • Increased in number of unique parents involved within the school community and activities

  • Increased school attendance for students in poverty

  • Decreased behavioral referrals on the school campus and within the school community

  • Increase in student graduation and career readiness

  • Increased number of students and families receiving mental and physical health care

  • Monthly student achievement and accountability system in “real time” in every Victory School that will assess student performance, analyze data to drive instruction, and compare school performance

Intermediate Outcomes (3-5 years):

  • 80% of students enter Kindergarten having mastered kindergarten readiness skills

  • 80% of third graders master 3rd grade literacy skills by the end of the 3rd grade

  • 75% of 6th and 8th grade student will display mastery of standards based assessments

  • 80% of freshmen are credit sufficient at the end of their 9th grade year

  • 75% of high school students graduate from high school

  • 80% of students and families, and staff report positive feelings about the climate of their school

  • The majority of families and community members report that their basic needs are being met

Long-term Outcomes   (6+ years):

  • Development and alignment of community systems to support the needs of students and families in poverty

  • Increased college completion rates of adults in communities of poverty

  • Decreased unemployment rates of adults in communities of poverty

  • Decreased crime rates, poverty rates in communities identified as high poverty zip codes

  • Increased health and well-being indicators of communities of poverty
