Assembly Bill 281 Passes with Bi-partisan/Constitutional Majority Support

Congratulations CCDBC on your perseverance and efforts to get this important legislation passed over the  past four years.  We extend our gratitude to each Bill Sponsor and Assembly/Senate member that voted to make this a bi-partisan, constitutional majority (veto proof) bill approved by the Governor on May 28, 2013 effective October 1, 2013.  This legislation will offer some accountability to a diverse and inclusive workforce on all public works jobs in Nevada, and will provide our Legislators with data that enables them to ensure access to jobs for all Nevadans and decrease job disparities.

We recognize the important support from Union friends, trade associations, government agencies including our diversity partner NDOT, and many others that provided testimony before and during the 2011 and 2013 sessions.  A very special thank you to Assemblyman Joe Hogan for leading this charge and his Attache, Greg Martin for his amazing efforts in Carson City and keeping us informed and aware of the progress.  Because you reached out to your representatives (no matter their party affiliation) this is a true testimony of community working with their elected representatives for the betterment of our community.

Please contact your representative if they gave us a "yea" vote (see below) and extend our heartfelt thank you on behalf of the CCDBC as our member representative.  Please stay tuned for an update on the next steps in bringing awareness to the job disparity in Nevada.
