Hazel Health has partnered with Clark County School District to provide access to quality health care services for all students, at no cost to families, this school year. A school health representative can initiate a video visit with a Hazel health care provider while your child is at-school to provide either physical or mental health services. Therapy sessions with Hazel Health are a safe space and are private and confidential while at school or at home.
Hazel's expert therapists can help with stress, bullying, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and more. Hazel offers referrals to mental health services in your community to ensure your child receives the long-term support they need.

CCBC Welcome Message:
Welcome to your community resource for relative and timely information important to the Black Electorate in Nevada. Socrates said it best, "The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new." We invite you to join us as we work together with policy makers and stakeholders to improve our quality of life. We are 100% volunteers working across the political aisle, because we recognize that our issues do not change with who's sitting in power. Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm, the first Black candidate from a major party to run for President said "You don't make progress by standing on the sidelines, whimpering and complaining. You make progress by implementing ideas." If you are an agent for change, we want you. Check out our website and see what we've been up to. And if you haven't done so, you can do one very powerful thing today... register online below and demonstrate the power of your vote.

FINALLY... Multicultural Education Bill Passes in NV Legislature!!!
Multicultural education standards WERE APPROVED by the Nevada Council for Academic Standards on June 20th, 2017 at NDE, and approved by the Nv State Board on September 12th. NDE will provide school districts with instructions and implementation guidelines for new school curriculum that includes the diverse community in Nevada and implemented in the 2019-2020 school year. To see proposed standards and new legislation (AB234) click tab below.
Congratulations to everyone for your efforts.
Support Dual Language Education & English Language Acquisition for ALL...
Every high school student should be bilingual if they want to have equal access to jobs in Nevada. Employers are more often asking for a bilingual workforce and although it is a violation of federal law to require "bilingual" unless it is essential to the job, in Nevada bilingual qualifications is commonplace as reflected in the disparity of employment noted above. It is time that we support bilingual education and English language proficiency for all students, while eliminating proficiency gaps and racial bias towards African American students in the classroom. Will you help us?
