2014 Federal/State Elections
Federal/State Elections are in even-numbered years. In 2009, the Nevada Legislature changed the date of the Federal/State Primary Election to the second Tuesday in June of each even-numbered year. The General Election date remains the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. Specific dates are below.

Pre-Registration for 2014 Judicial Candidate Filing: Candidates planning to run for judicial office in Clark County in 2014 (except candidates for Justice of the Supreme Court) are encouraged to pre-register their candidacy. By electronically providing filing information before appearing in-person, candidates will significantly reduce the time it takes to file because paperwork will be essentially complete before they arrive. The only additional information which candidates must supply in-person will be the office for which they are filing. To pre-register, login to the Registered Voter Services section on the Clark County Election Department's home page and select "Pre-register for Candidacy" from the menu. A Primary Election is a preliminary (nominating) election to select, when necessary, Democratic, Republican and nonpartisan candidates who will run in the General Election contests (except candidates for special district offices because they will only appear in the General Election). The direct vote of the people selects the candidates, rather than votes of convention delegates. In State/Federal Elections, Nevada has CLOSED PRIMARY elections.
