IMPORTANT NOTICE: THE BALLOT BOX WILL BE OPEN FOR 48 HOURS (5/21 @ 10:00 A.M. - 5/23 @ 10:00 A.M.) PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR BALLOT DURING THIS TIME PERIOD TO BE COUNTED. ONLY MEMBERS CURRENT ON THEIR DUES (or have a fee waiver) CAN CAST AN ENDORSEMENT BALLOT. Existing members may renew their membership dues online, but cannot participate in this endorsement process. However, new membership is CLOSED during this 48 hour voting period to preserve the credibility of the process, by preventing a tipping of the odds in a candidate's favor. Following a final list of ALL primary endorsed candidates will be posted on CCBC website on 5/24 along with our public announcement. As always you can download the slate of endorsed candidates to assist you at the polls or when completing your mail-in ballot. THANK YOU!
The Endorsement Committee for the 2022 election cycle has almost completed their task, and we'd like to thank each of them for their sacrifice of time to do this important work on behalf of the Caucus members. Your dedication and commitment to the members is very much appreciated and we thank you for your leadership. Although, every member may not agree with all of the recommendations, the Committee has vetted the candidates based on their public record or service, community/CCBC engagement on our issues, forums/summits, and/or committee interviews one on one with candidates they wanted to speak further with. In some cases, CCBC has actively been engaged with candidates over the years and have a good working knowledge of their values/platform and general alignment with our Platform. Others may be asked to participate in an interview, summit, or forum to better understand how they may represent the interest of our members.
Sometimes, more than one candidate may meet or exceed the Committee's expectation and/or both have split support, and it becomes difficult to decide. Therefore, in rare circumstance a duel endorsement may be recommended or no endorsement in that particular race. CCBC looks to support candidates most aligned with the CCBC Platform, have expressed or demonstrated a commitment to fight for those planks/issues important to the African American community, along with a commitment to make those issues a priority in their public service; and to remain accessible to our members after the election, while actively engaging in citizen governance. Please note that we also may endorse EARLY in some races, first to show our support for these candidates early, but also to give them the benefit of an early endorsement in their campaign.
We may not all agree 100% and you have the opportunity to express your opposition or preference in the comment section. Majority rules. Therefore, if the majority of members prefer a different candidate for endorsement, we will alter the list of endorsed candidates to reflect the will of our voting members. We believe it is the strength of the Caucus to trust each other enough to debate or disagree respectfully, while continuing to move the organization's goals forward in harmony. We only ask each member to be respectful of the recommendations of the Endorsement Recommendation Committee and the time and efforts to best serve you by making these recommendations with the facts, information, and previous engagement before them. It is sometimes a grueling process and ask that you consider serving on this committee in the future. It is a wonderful experience, and one that no-one serving on this committee takes lightly.
Please remember, you must be a voting member to participate in this vote. ALL others will be VOIDED. A voting member is current on their membership dues or have received a fee waiver. Please only cast 1 ballot per member. All ballots are recorded electronically and will be verified for eligibility. This ballot and the content therein is confidential and is prohibited from being reproduced, copied, or shared in any format. We ask that you respect the integrity of this process by maintaining the confidentiality of this ballot and the process.
